Himalayan Balsam

The parish council point to the invasive plant Himalayan Balsam in the village, particularly problematic along river banks.  It is easy to just pull out, though at this time of year the seed pods will explode off the plant in all directions when the plant is touched, so try not to cause a wider spread!  Ideally the plants should be pulled out in early summer/June before seeds, which remain viable for two years, have set.
